Fig. 1From: Evaluation of the clinical efficacy of a water soluble formulation of tylvalosin in the control of enzootic pneumonia associated with Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida in pigsPen mean lung lesion scores for tylvalosin pigs (TVN group) and untreated pigs (CTL group) following experimental inoculation with M. hyopneumoniae alone (Mhyop-only) or in a sequential combination with P. multocida (Mhyop + Pm). Box plots represents the arithmetic mean of each pen. In Mhyop-only, there were 6 pigs in each pen, 17 pens for each treatment. Pigs were challenged endotracheally with lung homogenate containing 1 × 105 ccu of M. hyopneumoniae in 10 ml on Day 0 and Day 1 and scored on Day 28. In Mhyop+Pm, there were 4 pigs in each pen, 11 pens for each treatment. Pigs were challenged on Day 0, Day 1 and Day 3 with broth media containing 1 × 109 cfu of M. hyopneumoniae in 5 ml of Mhyop and on Day 14 with broth media containing 1 × 1010 cfu in 10 ml of P. multocida. Both challenges through intranasal route and scored on Day 28. P value from least square means derived from statistical modelsBack to article page
