From: Evaluation of the clinical efficacy of a water soluble formulation of tylvalosin in the control of enzootic pneumonia associated with Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida in pigs

Fig. 1

Pen mean lung lesion scores for tylvalosin pigs (TVN group) and untreated pigs (CTL group) following experimental inoculation with M. hyopneumoniae alone (Mhyop-only) or in a sequential combination with P. multocida (Mhyop + Pm). Box plots represents the arithmetic mean of each pen. In Mhyop-only, there were 6 pigs in each pen, 17 pens for each treatment. Pigs were challenged endotracheally with lung homogenate containing 1 × 105 ccu of M. hyopneumoniae in 10 ml on Day 0 and Day 1 and scored on Day 28. In Mhyop+Pm, there were 4 pigs in each pen, 11 pens for each treatment. Pigs were challenged on Day 0, Day 1 and Day 3 with broth media containing 1 × 109 cfu of M. hyopneumoniae in 5 ml of Mhyop and on Day 14 with broth media containing 1 × 1010 cfu in 10 ml of P. multocida. Both challenges through intranasal route and scored on Day 28. P value from least square means derived from statistical models
